Hampton & Pigott

Three attorneys, one shared philosophy, and a new way of working with clients

The Challenge

Hampton & Pigott came to us in early 2019 with two needs. They wanted a long-form brand film to anchor their new website, plus a set of shorter cuts built for social advertising, all on a limited budget.

The budget turned out to be the easy part. The real challenge was the people. The firm's three attorneys came from very different backgrounds, and each one had their own way of explaining what they do and why it matters. Put them on camera one after another without a plan, and viewers would have seen three separate practices sharing an office.

The firm needed to sound like one firm. That didn't mean flattening three personalities into a single script or asking anyone to say something that wasn't theirs. It meant finding what already connected them and building the whole film around it, so their differences became a strength instead of a distraction.

Our Solution

We filmed over two days, splitting the time between a controlled studio setup and three locations picked to reflect the firm's character: the Colorado State Capitol at sunrise, the firm's office, and a backyard patio as the sun went down. The locations gave the story its sense of place: civic, grounded, and personal.

The real work, though, happened in the interview room. Each attorney talked about their practice in their own way, with their own language, priorities, and stories. On the surface, they sounded like three different firms. Our job was to listen past the wording and find the common thread: a shared legal philosophy that all three live by, even if none of them had ever put it into words the same way.

We didn't script answers. We asked questions, followed tangents, and gave people room to think out loud until the throughline showed up in their own voices. The final piece doesn't tell viewers what the firm believes. It lets them hear it three times, three different ways, and recognize it's the same conviction each time.
