The Challenge
A ballot campaign opposing Colorado propositions 124, 125 and 126, needing both the considered version and the fast one: interviews with independent liquor store owners the length of the state, and broadcast commercials built from nothing. For one spot we had to find teenagers willing to be filmed and a location that could pass for almost any neighbourhood in Colorado — inside 24 hours.
Our Solution
Being a Colorado company is most of why this worked. We shot owner interviews in Eagle, Silverthorne, Fort Collins, Boulder and Denver, and cast and scouted the live-action spot locally inside the day. Four interview films and three commercials came out of it — one live action, two animated.
How We Made It
- Crew & lighting
- Travelling interview crew across five Colorado cities; separate unit for the broadcast spots
- Talent
- Local teenagers cast inside 24 hours for the live-action commercial
- Schedule & locations
- Five cities — Eagle, Silverthorne, Fort Collins, Boulder, Denver
- Deliverables
- Four interview films, one live-action commercial, two animated commercials
Where It Ran
Broadcast and cable television ahead of the November election; the interview films ran across digital platforms and the campaign site. The live-action spot was picked up and shared by local brewers’ groups and drew national corporate attention.
