The Challenge

Delta Sigma Phi's 2025 Convention had two stories to tell at once: 125 years of history, and the launch of a new strategic plan and brand.
The convention celebrated the fraternity's past with a museum exhibit and a historian's presentation, while also introducing a new era for the organization. The national headquarters, based in Indianapolis, needed a Denver crew that could weave those two narratives into one film, and capture three packed days of sessions, receptions, a black-tie gala and a tuxedo giveaway.
Weeks before the event, the fraternity's food and beverage costs came in at twice what was expected. The video plan had to be reworked to fit a smaller budget without losing the story.

Our Solution

We started planning months ahead, then reshaped the crew plan around the fraternity's priorities so the story stayed intact on a tighter budget.
Planning and a flexible plan. After a discovery call in February, we built the coverage from Delta Sigma Phi's own shot list. When the budget tightened in July, we moved crew to where the story was and covered some sessions with photography instead of video.

A crew that fit in: Our DP, Thomas Charleston, led the on-site team. The crew dressed to match each event, including all black at the gala, and worked under an NDA so they could film inside closed business sessions. When Saturday's event ran an hour over, the crew stayed to cover it.

A story built with the client: Our editor, Lauren, shared every cut on a Monday.com board. Over about four rounds of feedback, the long-form film grew to include mission and vision text, the new National President and footage from the fraternity's brand-launch video. Delta Sigma Phi asked to let it run a full six minutes.

What we delivered:
• A 5–6 minute "History & New Era" story video
• A 90-second vertical social recap, with and without music
• Hundreds of edited event photos, delivered by day (395 from Saturday alone)
• About 1.6 TB of raw footage and audio, shipped on a hard drive for future marketing

The Results

The social recap drew "tons of positive feedback" the day it posted, and the long-form film anchored the fraternity's new-brand website launch.
• Immediate response on social: the Director of Communications reported positive feedback on the 90-second reel the same day it posted.
• Member demand: "dozens of email requests" for the photos came in within days of the convention.
• A story for the new era: the client called the final film "exactly what we need at this moment, moving into the next era."
• Fast turnaround: the social recap went live about 3 weeks after the event, and the long-form film was approved in about 5.5 weeks.
• A lasting reference: Delta Sigma Phi's Director of Membership Experience later agreed to serve as a reference: "I couldn't recommend you all enough."

Where It Ran

• Social media: the 90-second vertical recap went live on Delta Sigma Phi's social channels about three weeks after the convention.
• New website and member email: the "History & New Era" film was embedded in the fraternity's new website, launched with an email to its entire member base.
• Member photo sharing: event photos went to members, who had been asking for them right after the convention.
• Future marketing: the raw footage archive gives the fraternity's marketing team material for 2027 and beyond.

“It was a true pleasure to work with your team. The guys were all so great, and our attendees were raving about their professionalism.”

Elizabeth Allouche, Director of Communications, Delta Sigma Phi
