OUR PROCESS
At Snowy Peak Films we work with you to create your vision. Our typical productions take 3 – 6 weeks and can encompass everything from scripting and storyboarding through post-production and final delivery. We are versed in creating a wide range of video styles. The only limit is your imagination and time.
Our typical production consists of 3 stages.
Pre-production includes all the organization and logistics, auditioning talent, location scouts, creating a schedule, creative concepts, and scripts, storyboards, or a shot list. Once everything is in place it’s time for the fun part.
Production Time
Video Process
Production day/days- we arrive on set with all of the required gear to capture the footage. We light each scene to create the atmosphere and desired style and take our time to make sure everything is captured exactly the way you want. We shoot everything ‘as scripted’ but time permitting, we are also open to options while on set. Sometimes our Director will see another angle or a line we can try another way, to give the editor options in the post-production process. Doing this ensures that we stay on schedule and have time to maximize your value truly.
Post-production is the stage where all the hard work comes together. This is usually a fun and collaborative process. We have separated our post-production process into three parts: Rough Cut, Fine Cut, and Final Cut. Each step includes 2 rounds of revisions. By the time we get to this stage we are fully immersed in your project and know the vision completely. We expect the final cut to have few, if any, revisions since we’ve been on the same page throughout the process.
We start by providing the storyline edit (aka Rough Cut) to the client until we know the story we’re trying to tell is correct. We’ll also provide any options we shot on set to ensure we’re telling the best story possible.
Once the storyline is locked, we proceed with polishing- this means adding music, B-Roll footage, Motion Graphics, Sound Effects, etc to add to the emotion of the story.
After making any client-requested tweaks or adjustments, we’ll export a final version of the video in the format needed- for example, videos for the Web are exported in a high-quality 4K MP4 codec while files for Broadcast are typically high-definition QuickTime movie files.

Ownership of Footage: Clients retain full ownership of all footage captured by Snowy Peak, ensuring they have complete control over their projects. Snowy Peak requests the ability to use the videos for promotional purposes, a reasonable request considering they were the ones who produced the content.
