Vectra Bank came to us with a unique project. They wanted to film multiple times over 3 years to show the progress of their new headquarters being built. This led to several unusual challenges. We needed to maintain the footage over a long period of time, we needed to shoot several events, and we needed to mix the event footage with interview footage at the end of the project. On a construction site, how do you film a corporate team of professionals watching the last steel beam being put into place all while live streaming it to the employees?
We began the project by interviewing the CEO in his old office and using that as the roadmap for how we would proceed over the course of 3 years. During the duration of shooting, we filmed the ground breaking, the final beam being set, the finished space, and even the signs being installed at midnight in a rainstorm! We used multiple cameras, including a drone, to cover all the angles of Vectra’s “Topping Ceremony.” We even live-streamed the drone video of the final beam being set into place to the employees in the building and watching online. We also filmed interviews and edited together a recap video.
In the end we produced several videos for use throughout the construction project. Vectra was a client long enough that we built personal relationships and have even used their new space to host our own meeting, speaking volumes to just how well the project went. This was a unique challenge and it’s a testament to the team at Vectra to put their faith in us. We delivered everything they asked for and had a blast doing it.
